Older BIOSes (or, to be more precise, most BIOSes that are used today) do not support booting from network. Since many BIOSes support this, usual Linux live CDs tend to support a 'terminal server' mode where one CD can boot lots of PCs via network. It worked, and to rub salt on an open wound I made a thread over at (Check them out they have cool stuff for retro computer geeks) and the person there said the same thing right after I did it and it worked. Another quite new booting 'method' is booting via network.
Please note that upon first boot the Cinnamon DE is highlighted even tho MATE. These days its only practical to use a USB stick pin whatever for your installation disk in place of a DVD however a standard DVD is still an option.
I am just really really lucky it wasn't in a worse place and I am lucky it didn't end up frying something (Although who knows, *Crosses fingers*) My dad, who had been giving me advice on this, said to try putting it outside of the case, saying he once had a problem like this where a screw was jammed into the board and case and was shorting something. Download Latest Version (1.9 GB) Get Updates. 2) Sys is from version 7.00 (just unpack (Pklite) and open with Hex editor) not needed on V.7.10 diskette. SO LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, WOULD YOU LIKE TO KNOW WHAT I DID WRONG? There was a standoff still screwed into the case even though it shouldn't have been. These are the ISO boot disk images available from AllBootDisks. This just goes to show it's always the really stupid thing. I was about to type that this was the most boneheaded mistake I have ever done, but that would never be true nor fair. Can somebody shoot me for a second? Thank you.
